Ile de Ré bridge is the crossing between daily life and an island full of surprises.
From the mainland to the Ile de Ré
The Île-de-Ré bridge is almost 3 kilometers long, which makes it one of the longest in France. It climbs to 42 meters above sea level, connecting the island to the mainland since its inauguration in 1988. The project was controversial for a long time, but today it is popular with cyclists and walkers, who can admire the view of La Rochelle and the island from the bridge.
